چکیده

A field experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of vermicompost (0, 10, and 15 tha-1), climatic elements i.e. soil moisture (50%, 70%, 100%) elevation temperature (1 20C) on physico-chemical properties nutrient availability post-harvest calcareous-acid mixed soils after rice production. total 18 treatments assembling afore-mentioned doses applied. The analyses demonstrated significant variation in (p ≤0.05) both available status physicochemical soils. Except for sulfur; pH, EC, organic carbon (OC), nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, calcium, sodium were detected higher amounts 1:1 (calcareous : acid-soils) than those 1:3 counterpart initial conditions. highest levels OC, P Zn determined treatment T13. Whereas, T6 proved be best dose Ca Mg. T1, T2, T11, T16 recorded have lower N, P, Ca, Mg, S contents In particular, Na found lesser all subplots. a nutshell, most exerted favourable influence maintaining healthy level parameters owing their inherent characteristics. Effects of vermicompost on growth and leaf biomass yield of stevia and post harvest fertility status of soil

In view of the growing awareness about eco-friendly organic farming, vermicompost (VC) could be a very good option for increasing crops yield. The organic carbon in VC releases nutrients slowly and steadily into the system and enables the plant to absorb these nutrients. To assess the effect of VC on soil fertility, growth and yield of stevia in acid and non-calcareous soils, an experiment was ...

Nitrogen and Soil Fertility

amounts involved are much smaller. The amount of boron in the 7-ton potato crop (if determined) would have been about 0.2 pound. In the case of boron (and to a lesser degree the other micronutrients) if the soil contains excessive amounts, toxic quantities are absorbed by plants and growth is restricted. The need for a reasonable balance in amounts of available nutrients in the soil has been po...

Iron and Soil Fertility

Fertilizers that are essentially sulfurfree have been used increasingly. Ammonium nitrate, anhydrous ammonia, urea, and ammonia solutions are examples among the nitrogen carriers. The use of concentrated superphosphate and other phosphorus carriers with little sulfur has been expanding. We recommend that farmers in areas of potential deficiency should have a planned program of adding sulfur ins...

variety of crops. Pot tests indicated that addition of about 200 p.p.m. of copper from copper sulfate produced a toxic reaction in soils low in copper, but otherwise comparable to Alsatian vineyard soils, which were found to contain as much as 400 p.p.m. of copper. Among the crops tested, vines were most resistant to copper toxicity; clover and alfalfa were most sensitive. Symptoms of copper po...

Soil moisture and soil-litter mixing effects on surface litter decomposition: A controlled environment assessment

Recent studies suggest the long-standing discrepancy between measured and modeled leaf litter decomposition in drylands is, in part, the result of a unique combination of abiotic drivers that include high soil surface temperature and radiant energy levels and soil-litter mixing. Temperature and radiant energy effects on litter decomposition have been widely documented. However, under field cond...
